Duty Station: Ramallah
Type of Contract: Non-staff (Service Contract – SC2)
Duration of Initial Contract: 12 months (extension based on performance and funding)

OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST
Under the overall supervision of the Finance and Administrative Officer and the direct supervision of the Senior Driver, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
Drive authorized personnel according to a weekly schedule to be coordinated in cooperation with the Senior Driver.
Conduct commute between Jerusalem and Ramallah on an adhoc basis.
Ensure routine vehicle checks (tires, oil, fuel, brakes, radio equipment, spare parts, etc.), day-to-day maintenance, refueling when necessary and cleaning of the vehicles as needed in consultation with the Senior Driver.
Ensure proper handover to other vehicle users.
Maintain vehicle logs of official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, etc. and update according to the system established system within the UNESCO Ramallah Office.
Maintain situational awareness and make decisions based on the current security situation to ensure the safety of passengers and assets. Strictly adhere to security protocols and communication rules as instructed by relevant security personnel.
Ensure compliance with relevant UN security system measures and follow the instructions of UNDSS in case of incidents.
Assist in logistics for the project activities as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Completed secondary, technical or vocational school degree.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience as a driver, a safe driving record and in possession of a Class C driving license.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of the rules and regulations involved in the safe and efficient operation of vehicles.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Ability to deal effectively and patiently with others.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of the country map and routes.
- Punctuality.
LANGUAGES
Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic (written and oral).
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
WORK EXPERIENCE
Previous experience within the UN, international organizations or INGOs.
LANGUAGES
Knowledge of Hebrew.
