At the end of trading in New York, the Dow Jones Industrial Average recorded a decline of 0.31%, reaching its lowest record level within a month, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index fell by about 0.23% and the Nasdaq index fell by about 0.09%.


Among the leading stocks today in the Dow Jones Industrial Average was UnitedHealth Group Inc. (NYSE: UNH), whose value rose 1.03%, or 5.15 points, to reach 506.29 at the close. On the other hand, Chevron Corp (NYSE: CVX) shares continued to rise by 0.66%, or 1.09 points, to close at 166.28, while Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) shares increased by 0.49%, or 0.86 points, to 174.79 at the end of the session.


As for the weakest performance at the end of today's trading, shares of The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) closed down by 1.79%, or 1.48 points, and traded at 81.25 levels at the close. Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ: WBA) shares declined by 1.54%, or 0.33 points, to a price of 21.12, while Dow Inc (NYSE: DOW) shares closed down by 1.47%, or 0.75 points, to a price of 50.25.


On the other hand, the best performance in the Standard & Poor's 500 index was recorded by ON Semiconductor (NASDAQ:ON), which rose by 3.17% at a price of 93.81. Broadcom Inc (NASDAQ:AVGO) also continued to rise at 2.56% and closed. At levels of 829.08, FactSet Research Systems Inc (NYSE:FDS) shares rose about 2.13% and ended its trading at 435.85.


Among the weakest performing stocks today, we mention Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd (NYSE:NCLH), which fell by 7.45% and closed its session at 15.66, and Paramount Global Class B (NASDAQ:PARA), which lost 4.96% at The price of 12.64 and Tesla shares (NASDAQ: TSLA), which weakened by 4.23% and closed at 244.88 today’s session on the stock exchange.


On the other hand, the best performance in the Nasdaq index was recorded by Cheche Group Inc (NASDAQ: CCG), which rose by 31.45% at a price of 19.52. Synaptogenix Inc (NASDAQ: SNPX) also continued its rise at 30.17% and closed at levels 0.37, and Ohmyhome Ltd (NASDAQ:OMH) shares rose by 28.86% and ended its trading at 2.59.


Among the weakest performing stocks today, we mention Neptune Wellness Solutions Inc (NASDAQ:NEPT), which fell by 59.75% and closed its session at 1.61, Powerbridge Technologies Co Ltd (NASDAQ:PBTS), which lost 34.19% at 1.39 and Morphic Holding Inc (NASDAQ:MORF) stock, which weakened by 28.64% and closed at 36.68 in today’s session on the stock exchange.


The number of stocks that declined exceeded the number of stocks that closed higher in trading on the New York Stock Exchange, with 1,558 compared to 1,352, while 77 remained unchanged. As for the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2,029 of the stocks declined, 1,415 strengthened their position, while 145 of the stocks maintained their value.


Paramount Global Class B (NASDAQ:PARA) stock fell to a record low in 3 years, losing 4.96%, or 0.66 points, at a price of 12.64. Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ:WBA) shares fell to a record low, falling 1.54%, or 0.33 points, to a price of 21.12. Neptune Wellness Solutions Inc (NASDAQ:NEPT) stock fell to a record low, falling 59.75%, or 2.39 points, to a price of 1.61.


500 Volatility Index, which measures the implied standard deviation of options on the S&P 500 index, traded down 1.94% to close at 17.20.


Gold futures for December delivery rose 0.26%, or 5.05, and closed at $1,944.65 per ounce. As for trading in other commodities, WTI crude oil futures contracts for delivery in November rose 0.81%, or 0.73, and reached a price of $90.36 per barrel, while the November contract for Brent oil contracts recorded an increase of 0.36%, or 0.34 points, and closed at $93.64 per barrel.


The EUR/USD pair maintained stability at 0.14% and traded at 1.06 levels, while the USD/JPY pair continued to rise by 0.55% and reached 148.40 levels.


Dollar index contracts traded up by 0.23% at 105.29.
