Russian war on Ukraine. Bombing and invasion of Kiev and Ukrainian cities, moment by moment update

The Russian war on Ukraine .. Putin orders a new attack from all sides and the West confirms Kiev's steadfastness and sends 400 missile launchers

The main thing is from the address of President Volodymyr Zelensky

▪️Today, Russia launched another missile strike on Ukraine, on Odessa.
As of this time - 8 dead. At least 18 wounded. Ordinary peaceful people. Among those killed was a 3-month-old child and a girl.

▪️The strike was made by Russian strategic aircraft. From the Caspian Sea region. We managed to shoot down two missiles. Five more rockets hit a peaceful city. Including on the usual apartment house, on the usual high-rise building.

▪️What the Russians have already done are enough arguments for the world to recognize the Russian state as a sponsor of terrorism and the Russian army as a terrorist organization. We will continue to insist on this in negotiations with our partners.

▪️New facts about the crimes of the occupiers against the people of Mariupol are revealed. New burials of people killed by the occupiers are being established. We are talking about tens of thousands of dead Mariupol. Negotiations of the occupiers on how they hide the traces of their crimes are recorded.

▪️Russia continues to support the activities of so-called filtration camps, in particular near Mariupol. Although an honest name for them, in fact - concentration camps. Those who built the Nazis of their time. Ukrainians from these camps - the survivors - are sent further into the occupied territories and to Russia. The facts of deportation of our citizens to the Russian hinterland, to Siberia, even to Vladivostok are recorded.

▪️I spoke today with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson. He informed him about the situation in Mariupol, in general in combat zones. He thanked for the significant defense and financial support for Ukraine. Coordinated further steps needed to protect freedom.

▪️We are also preparing for tomorrow's important talks with American partners.

▪️He held a big live press conference in Kyiv today. He answered many questions - different, from different journalists. Both Ukrainian and foreign.

▪️Finally. There will be a curfew tonight. Please follow this rule. This is important from a security point of view. But from five in the morning you will be able to visit temples in your cities and communities. Where it is possible to hold a service. Please - only in the morning.

▪️During March 26, the Ukrainian military destroyed 1 Russian aircraft, 12 Russian UAVs of various types, and 5 Russian cruise missiles.

▪️The United States will provide an additional $ 100 million to Ukraine. Increased funding will continue the steady flow of personal protective equipment, field equipment, tactical equipment, medical supplies, armored vehicles and communications equipment for the State Border Guard Service and the National Police of Ukraine.

▪️Gasoline prices fell by 5-10 hryvnias, and fuel reappeared at many gas stations. Thousands of tons of fuel went to Ukraine from Europe. The government has taken another step to stabilize the fuel market. A resolution has been passed regulating that the price of so-called "premium fuel" may not exceed the prices of conventional fuel by more than 5%. This eliminates the possibility of setting unreasonably high prices for some gas stations.

▪️The government equated bulletproof vests and helmets to humanitarian aid. This now greatly simplifies the import of these goods into Ukraine. No bureaucracy, only a declarative principle.

▪️Slavutich Mayor Yuri Fomichev announced the occupation of the city by Russian troops and confirmed the death of three civilians at a rally against the invaders.

▪️The Russian enemy now has three tasks: to surround our troops in the environmental protection zone, to completely occupy Mariupol and to hold the South. If they lose Kherson, their entire Mariupol occupation will collapse. And that's all. There will be no capture of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odessa. This was stated by Alexei Arestovich.

▪️The fire at the oil depot in Dubno, which occurred as a result of a missile strike by the occupiers, has been localized. Chemical and radiation background is normal. There is no threat to the civilian population. No need to evacuate children or adults. The situation is under control. This was announced by the head of the Rivne Regional State Administration Vitaliy Koval.

▪️In the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, martial law was imposed amid new tensions between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan called on the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to ensure the complete withdrawal of the remnants of the Armenian army and illegal Armenian armed groups from the territory of Azerbaijan.

▪️In the Zaporizhia region, terrorists liberated two villages from the occupiers - Poltavka and Malynivka, which are located east of the town of Huliaipole.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on members of the US Congress on Wednesday to devise new tools to confront Moscow and impose new sanctions to stop the Russian war machine.

In a video speech to members of the US Congress, Zelensky said that his country needs an American decision to protect the skies of Ukraine, and added that if the establishment of a no-fly zone is not possible, his country needs aircraft to defend itself.

Zelensky addressed congressional representatives, calling for pressure on American companies to withdraw from Russia to stop financing this war, stressing that the fate of Ukraine and its people is now decided, and said that Moscow attacked his country's values, dreams and desire to live in peace.

He also called on them to impose new sanctions on Moscow, and called on his American counterpart, Joe Biden, to be a leader for peace across the world

American response

In the first US reactions after the congressional session on providing Ukraine with weapons to confront the Russian Air Force, Republican Senator Jim Risch said that he agreed with President Zelensky on providing aircraft and air defense systems to Ukraine.

As for Republican Senator Mitt Romney, he called - after Zelensky's speech to Congress - for the delivery of MiG fighters to Ukraine.

For his part, said Mike McCaul, the top Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, that the "S-300" systems are now located in Ukraine.

Putin's statements

On the other hand, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that his country will not abandon Ukraine's neutrality, disarm it and eliminate what he described as Nazism in Kyiv.

Putin added that Western countries are destabilizing the foundations of the world order and are pushing Ukraine to continue to shed blood by supplying it with weapons, stressing that Moscow will respond to the new package of sanctions.

Ukraine has rejected a proposal to turn it into a neutral country on the model of Austria or Sweden, and this comes in response to the Kremlin's statements that agreeing on this formula would be a compromise solution to end the conflict.

On the ground, Moscow's war on Ukraine ends today, Wednesday, its third week, as the Russian army continued its military operations from various axes and fronts, especially Kyiv, where sirens sounded since morning and missiles fell, amid the assertion by the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Army that defending the capital is a strategic mission.

Czech Prime Minister Peter Fiala had said earlier that European officials are meeting with Zelensky with representatives of the European Council, explaining that the purpose of the visit is solidarity with Ukraine, expressing the EU's absolute support for its freedom and independence, and providing a broad package of aid.

In the same regard, US President Joe Biden announced the allocation of $13.6 billion in military aid to Ukraine, saying that the war had turned 3 million Ukrainians into refugees.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) (NATO) expressed the alliance's concern that Moscow might set up a false operation and use chemical weapons in Ukraine, saying that Russia's allegations that Ukraine is developing chemical weapons are just fabrications, and Moscow promises that it will pay a heavy price. If chemical weapons are used.

In a parallel context, the European Union announced today, Tuesday, a fourth package of sanctions against Russia due to its war on Ukraine.

According to a statement by the European Council, the new package includes a ban on all transactions with certain Russian state-owned companies, a ban on the provision of any credit rating services and access to any subscription services in connection with the credit rating activities of any Russian person or entity.

On the ground, Russia announced that its forces had fully taken control of the Kherson region (southern Ukraine), while the Kyiv authorities decided to impose a curfew in the capital for a period of 35 hours, starting from Tuesday evening, after several Russian strikes.

American fears
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that he had real concerns that Russia would use chemical weapons in Ukraine, pointing out that Washington was very clear with Moscow, and informed it that there would be a response and repercussions if it used chemical weapons.

He added, in statements to CNN, that Russia's talk about its nuclear weapons reflects irresponsibility, stressing that President Biden was clear in making sure that we avoided entering into a conflict with Russia that would lead us to a third world war.

According to Blinken, Putin's goal is to deprive Ukraine of its right to exist as an independent state, considering Putin's fears about Ukraine's admission to NATO unfounded.

"Ukraine was not in the process of imminent accession to NATO even before the Russian aggression," he added.

The head of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Zbigniew Rau stressed that the principles of the United Nations are related to the flagrant violation of international law in the heart of Europe, adding that Moscow's security demands were based on false grounds.

Rao said that there is no justification for launching military aggression against a peaceful country such as Ukraine, noting that the Russian military operation has proven to be a failure, and that the Kremlin has changed its military strategy.

He stated that hospitals and schools in Ukraine were deliberately targeted with prohibited weapons, and said, "Our neutrality ends where the violation of international humanitarian law begins."

"We will hold the perpetrators accountable for their actions, and we cannot stand idly by about what is happening," Rao added, noting that what the Russian leadership had done led to its isolation from the world.

He talked about that Russia decided - with the support of the Belarusian regime - to violate international law, and addressed Minsk, saying, "We send a strong message to Minsk: not to participate in this brutal operation against Ukraine."

The Kremlin announced that a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is not excluded, stressing that it is important to understand what will be discussed during the meeting and what could result from it.

For his part, Mikhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the Ukrainian president, said that he believed that progress could be made during talks with Russia in the coming days, as the Russian side had become more constructive.

Podolyak said that a political settlement with Russia is on the negotiating table, pointing out that the agreement with Moscow should include stopping the war and the speedy withdrawal of Russian forces, and that some results are likely to be achieved in the negotiations within days.

For his part, Leonid Slutsky, a member of the Russian delegation to the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations, expressed optimism about the progress of the negotiations.

In statements to "Russia Today" channel, Slutsky did not rule out the possibility of reaching an agreement in this regard within the next few days.

On the other hand, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) warned of the possibility of Moscow using weapons of mass destruction in Ukraine, and said that the decision to end the war was up to Putin.

In turn, the European Union stressed that it does not want a war with Russia, but the goal is to weaken the political leadership responsible for what is happening in Ukraine.

Field Developments

On the ground, hostilities continue throughout the Ukrainian territory, with the Russian war on Ukraine entering its 18th day.

More than 2,100 residents of the city have been killed since the start of the Russian war on Ukraine, the AFP news agency quoted the mayor of Mariupol as saying.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that its forces had taken control of Blagodatnoy, Vladimirovka, Pavlovka and Nikolskaya on the outskirts of Mykolaiv (southwest of the country).

In the east of the country, the ministry added that Lugansk forces are besieging a number of areas on the outskirts of the city of Popasnia, and Donetsk forces are besieging the cities of Sever and Donetsk from the eastern and southern sides.

To the west, the governor of the city of Lviv said that the dead and wounded were caused by Russian air strikes on a military facility. The Lviv authorities had said that 8 Russian missiles targeted the center for keeping international peace and security.

For its part, Kyiv accused Russian forces of bombing a peacekeeping center in Lviv, near the Polish border, and said that the bombing killed 35 people.

On the other hand, Donetsk separatists accused the Ukrainian army of bombing their positions, and Moscow said it had shot down a Ukrainian missile launcher, and vowed to target foreign military aid convoys to Ukraine.

Russian war on Ukraine. Bombing and invasion of Kiev and Ukrainian cities, moment by moment update

On the third day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Moscow announced ordering its forces to launch a new attack from all sides, claiming Kiev's refusal to negotiate. The Western powers confirmed that the Ukrainian resistance had surprised the attacking forces.

Russian forces continued to bombard Ukrainian cities with artillery and missiles, and the Kremlin announced that the forces resumed their advance today, Saturday, after President Vladimir Putin ordered a halt to the attack yesterday, in anticipation of talks with Kiev that did not take place.

The Kremlin said that Ukraine had refused to negotiate, but the Ukrainian presidential adviser confirmed that Kiev had not refused, but Russia had set conditions that could not be accepted, he said.

The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that it had ordered its forces to launch a large-scale attack from all sides in Ukraine.

The ministry said that Russian intelligence indicates that Ukrainian forces have deployed missile systems between residential neighborhoods in cities, and at the same time stressed that they do not launch any military strikes on residential areas.

While violent clashes are taking place in some streets of the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, the authorities decided to tighten the curfew in the city, and said that they would consider any civilian on the street an element of the enemy's sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

The Ukrainian Ministry of the Interior confirmed that fierce fighting was taking place in the streets of Kiev, and called on the population to be careful, and battles erupted on Victory Avenue; One of the main arteries of Kiev.

And Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced today, Saturday, the tightening of the curfew in the capital, warning that anyone who is on the streets between five in the evening (local time) and eight in the morning will be treated as an enemy. The curfew, which was imposed when the Russian invasion began, was between ten in the evening and seven in the morning.

Residents in shelters

"All civilians on the streets during the curfew period will be considered members of the enemy's sabotage and reconnaissance groups," Klitschko said in a statement via the Telegram app.

It was also announced that the capital's metro is now a refuge for its residents and will not provide transportation service for the time being.

The British Ministry of Defense said today that Russian forces continue to advance towards Kiev, and that the bulk of these forces are now 30 km from the city center.

Britain confirmed that the Ukrainian army was displaying fierce resistance throughout the country, and earlier denied Russian reports that the attacking forces had seized the city of Melitopol (southeast of the country).

Britain's Ministry of Defense said Russia had not yet controlled the airspace over Ukraine, "which significantly reduces the effectiveness of the Russian air force. Russian losses are likely to be greater than what the Kremlin had anticipated or admitted."

Russian reinforcements

The local governor of the Kiev region, Oleksiy Kuleba, said that Russian forces are strengthening their presence on the Ukrainian border in the Kiev region. He added that 71 wounded are currently being treated in hospitals in the region, including soldiers and civilians.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed today that Ukraine "derailed" the Russian attack plan on the third day of the invasion of his country, calling on the Russians to pressure President Putin to stop the war.

"We have withstood and succeeded in repelling the enemy's attacks," Zelensky said in a video clip on Facebook. "Fighting continues in many towns and regions of the country, but it is our army that controls Kiev and the main cities throughout the capital."

The Ukrainian president announced that his Western partners would send new weapons and equipment to Ukraine, and called not to believe the "false information" circulating on the Internet that he called his army to hand over his weapons, and said, "Our weapon is the truth. This is our land, this is our country, these are our children, we will defend all this." .

The Ukrainian Defense Minister announced that they had thwarted "the plans of the Russian enemy completely after 55 hours of resistance," noting that the Russian forces were targeting hospitals and civilian and educational facilities.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine also announced the death of more than 3,000 Russian soldiers, and appealed to the Red Cross to intervene to transport the dead.

Ukrainian resistance

The Western powers stressed the strength of the Ukrainian resistance, which they say the Russian army was surprised by, and stressed that it continues to send weapons and military equipment despite the air battles.

A senior official in the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) said that the Russians are frustrated by the Ukrainian resistance that slows down their progress, which came more than they expected, according to his expression.

The US official stated that the heaviest fighting in Ukraine currently is taking place in and around Kharkiv (northeast). He also stressed that the resistance is strong in the north of Kiev, and that the Russian forces are now 30 kilometers from the capital and have not advanced further.

The same source indicated that more than half of the Russian forces mobilized by Putin entered Ukraine, but stressed that the United States continues to send military aid.

The US official said that the Pentagon will send Javelin anti-armor missiles as part of an additional aid package to Ukraine, and indicated that transporting military aid by land is one of the options.

In the same context, the US Politico website quoted European officials as saying that Germany had agreed to send 400 missile launchers to Ukraine via the Netherlands.

Fears of a chemical explosion

With regard to the eastern and southern fronts, the Ukrainian State Security Service said that Russia had distributed gas masks to its forces in the separatist Donetsk region, located in the Donbas region (east) and that it might be preparing to detonate chemical containers.

On the other hand, TASS news agency quoted the Russian Defense Ministry as saying that Donbass forces advanced to a depth of up to 46 kilometers and took control of new areas.

For his part, the spokesman for the Moscow-backed Ukrainian separatists said that their forces are launching a large-scale military operation across two axes south of Donetsk, and have seized 5 towns in their latest attacks.

The spokesman stressed that they have no intention of storming the major cities under the control of the Ukrainian forces in the Donbass region so as not to cause civilian casualties.

Today, the Ukrainian Ministry of Interior reported that 3 people were killed and others wounded, including children, in a Russian air raid on the village of Sartana in Donetsk.

The Ukrainian Prosecutor General also announced the death of a girl as a result of Russian missile strikes on the city of Sumy, northeastern Ukraine.
